Rural artisans, SHGs, FPOs exhibiting their products at NABKRAFT Mela in Chandigarh

Chandigarh, Feb 18 (KNN) Rural artisans, Self Help Groups (SHGs) and Farmer Producers’ Organisations (FPOs) from Punjab as well as from many other states such as Rajasthan, Gujarat and Maharashtra have put around 60 stalls for exhibiting their various products at ‘NABKRAFT Mela- an Exhibition cum Fair’.

The three-day fair titled ‘NABKRAFT Mela- an Exhibition cum Fair’ is being organised by National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) in collaboration with Markfed as marketing partner to provide marketing platform to rural artisans.

Inaugurated by Punjab Governor and UT Administrator VP Singh Badnore, the mela would provide necessary visibility, marketing opportunities and avenues to the artisans.

The Governor while inaugurating the NABKRAFT took a round of all the stalls and interacted with various participants.

He appreciated various products and encouraged the artisans.

He also lauded the initiative taken by NABARD and emphasized that in order to sustain the livelihoods of artisan and SHGs and encourage them, continuous market support is required and more such exhibitions and melas need to be organised.

The three day mela/exhibition will conclude on February 19, 2019. (KNN/YV)
