Swadeshi Jagran Manch to campaign for MSMEs

New Delhi, May 20 (KNN) In a bid to revive cottage and Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), Swadeshi Jagran Manch (SJM) has decided to launch a nationwide campaign.

The campaign named ‘All India Swavlamban Abhiyan’ aims at creating an awareness about self-reliance among Indian industry.

Ashwani Mahajan, National Co Convenor, Swadeshi Jagran said that there are more than 700 MSME clusters in the country. Many of these industrial clusters lost their sheen due to unfair competition from China and unfair import policies.

''They have to be supported and strengthened by all means so that they not only create employment opportunities but also produce high quality products at the most economical cost,'' he added.

Mahajan said that the SJM has made cluster studies to identify problems faced by the local industry and more studies will be carried out in a mission mode to revive domestic industry.

“Swavlamban would be achieved by rejuvenating indigenous industry, including small scale industries, small businesses, artisans, rural industries including food processing industry and other non-farm activities,” he added.
