There is a need to make skilling a way of life: KTI

Mumbai, July 12 (KNN) In order to increase the availability of skilled workers in the industry, several institutes across India are focussing on skill development programmes. A week-long skill festival was organised by Kohinoor Technical Institute (KTI) and Sathaye College to celebrate ‘Skill India Week’ on the occasion of ‘World Youth Skill Day’.

KTI’s CEO & Director Sameer Joshi said, “The objective of organising Skill Carnival is to inculcate the importance of Vocational Education in parents and students making it more aspirational by sharing real time success stories, conducting interaction between students and professionals from the Industry etc.”

He said, “We are very pleased that Sathaye College, a prestigious educational institute, is associated with us to support and promote Skilling.”

The Director acknowledged the fact that even today people perceive vocational training as measures of last resort.

He stressed on the need to bring in the change and make skilling a way of life.

The Skill India Week celebration is part of a project of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship to help ‘Make in India’ slogan a success by creating job-ready engineers and entrepreneurs. (KNN/FA)
