Kottayam, June 25 (KNN) Rubber Board has clarified that all regions including traditional and non-traditional rubber growing areas in South India will continue to receive subsidy from the Scheme for financial assistance for rubber planting and replanting.

In an official release on Wednesday, the Rubber Board said that sections of the media reports have recently appeared giving an impression that the traditional rubber growing area consisting of Kerala and Kanyakumari district of Tamil Nadu have been excluded by the Rubber Board from the subsidy.

“Such reports are completely misplaced and that the Scheme for financial assistance for rubber planting/replanting continues to be available for all regions including traditional and non-traditional rubber growing areas,” it said.

It further said that considering the resources available with the Board in the first quarter of the year, the Board has invited applications for assistance for rubber planting/replanting in the first phase from the Non-Traditional and North eastern regions.

It is clarified that applications for the traditional rubber growing areas are going to be shortly invited, the board said. (KNN/ST)
