Ukraine war slows Russian defence supply to India

New Delhi, Mar 27 (KNN) Owing to the ongoing war with Ukraine, Russia is falling short of defence supplies to India, the Indian Air Force (IAF) official told the Indian parliamentary committee.
Russia is India’s largest defence supplier and this can risk the relationship between New Delhi and Moscow.
The statement comes even as Moscow attempts to ramp up weapons production.
The IAF statement is the first official confirmation of such shortfalls, reported Reuters. An IAF representative told the panel that Russia had planned a “major delivery” this year that will not take place.
The IAF also informed the parliamentary panel that the Russia-Ukraine war affected its supplies so much that it slashed its projected capital expenditure on modernisation for the financial year ending March 31, 2024, by nearly a third compared to the previous fiscal year. (KNN Bureau)
