Meghalaya MSMEs To Connect With Domestic, International Buyers At RBSM 2.0
Shillong, Oct 7 (KNN) Meghalaya MSMEs will get an opportunity to connect with domestic and international buyers at the second Reverse Buyer-Seller Meet (RBSM) 2.0, scheduled for October 8-9 at the State Convention Centre.
Organised by the Department of Commerce and Industries under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) initiative in partnership with the Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO), the event will facilitate business-to-business interactions between Meghalaya enterprises and verified buyers.
Commissioner and Secretary, Commerce and Industries, CVD Diengdoh, said the meet would help local enterprises explore new markets and expand their domestic and international reach.
Meghalaya has nearly 98,000 registered MSMEs, according to the department. Around 22 international buyers from Bangladesh, Canada, the United States, Mauritius, the Netherlands, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, the United Kingdom and Kenya are expected to participate, along with domestic buyers.
MSME Products To Be Showcased
Products from sectors including food processing, honey and beekeeping, handloom, black pottery, grains, bamboo handicrafts, wood and stone carving, wellness and water-based products will be showcased at the event.
An exhibition featuring products from participating MSMEs will also be organised.
Deputy Chief Minister in charge of Commerce and Industries Sniawbhalang Dhar will inaugurate the programme on October 8.
The department said the initiative is aimed at helping MSMEs access new markets, expand their operations and create employment opportunities.
