Rajasthan Gets Rs 12,208 Crore Development Push with 1,898 Projects
Jaipur, Aug 17 (KNN) Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for a total of 1,898 development projects worth Rs 12,208 crore across Rajasthan in programmes held in Alwar and Chittorgarh.
The initiatives cover areas including agriculture, dairy, cooperation, rural development, water supply, healthcare, employment and infrastructure.
At Alwar, Shah inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for 954 development works worth Rs 6,453 crore. A foundation stone was laid for a 3-lakh-litre-per-day milk processing plant, with plans to increase its capacity to 5 lakh litres per day. Four Saras Dairy plants in Bhilwara, Jaipur, Pali and Rajsamand, costing Rs 274 crore, were also commissioned.
Four district cooperative banks were also launched in Phalodi, Balotra, Didwana-Kuchaman and Pratapgarh, with farmers eligible for loans at zero per cent interest.
Around Rs 152 crore under the Chief Minister's Crop Insurance Scheme was transferred through DBT, while more than Rs 667 crore was disbursed to 67 lakh farmers under the Mukhyamantri Kisan Samman Nidhi.
Shah said Rajasthan has around 44,000 cooperative societies and highlighted plans to establish 50 new warehouses in 2026-27. He said 62 warehouses with 100 MT capacity and 100 warehouses with 500 MT capacity have already been completed.
At Chittorgarh, Shah inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for 944 development projects worth Rs 5,755 crore covering 15 districts of Rajasthan.
Shah highlighted measures related to water supply, employment, healthcare and investment. He said three major agreements have been signed to improve water availability in Rajasthan, while household tap-water connections under the Har Ghar Nal Se Jal initiative have increased from 11 lakh to 64 lakh households.
He said the Rising Rajasthan initiative attracted investment proposals worth Rs 35 lakh crore and resulted in 36 new policies, while 1.78 lakh jobs were provided through job fairs.
The Minister also said LPG cylinders were being supplied at less than Rs 450, with Rs 1,128 crore in subsidies disbursed so far. Healthcare coverage under the Pradhan Mantri-Mukhyamantri Ayush Arogya Yojana has been extended to 45 lakh people, he said.
Shah also highlighted farmer-focused initiatives launched between 2014 and 2025, including the Gokul Mission, Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana, Soil Health Card, Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, e-NAM, PM-KISAN, Agriculture Infrastructure Fund, Ministry of Cooperation and Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana.
He further said the government recorded its highest-ever procurement of foodgrains at MSP, citing increases in MSP of 130 per cent for bajra, 103 per cent for mustard, 84 per cent for wheat, 120 per cent for cotton and 168 per cent for jowar.
