Rajasthan CM Unveils Support Measures For MSMEs, Artisans & Semiconductor Manufacturing
Jaipur, Jun 29 (KNN) Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma on Saturday announced measures to boost the state’s micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) and electronics sectors, including artisan markets under the public-private partnership (PPP) model, financial support for 25 startups and relaxed investment thresholds for semiconductor manufacturing.
Addressing a state function organised on the occasion of International MSME Day, Sharma said Rajasthan had emerged as the country's fourth-largest MSME state with over 33 lakh enterprises, attributing the growth to government policy and entrepreneurial initiative, PTI reported.
Artisan Markets and ODOP Support
The state government will develop and operate artisan markets for handicraft workers, weavers, and micro enterprises under the PPP model. In the first phase, such markets will be established at Pushkar, Nathdwara, Jaisalmer, and Alwar.
Sharma also announced financial assistance under the One District One Product (ODOP) scheme for processing units linked to identified species and plants under the Panch Gaurav Yojana.
Electronics and Semiconductor Incentives
To attract investment in electronics and semiconductor manufacturing, the minimum investment threshold under the Rajasthan Investment Promotion Scheme (RIPS)-2024 for select manufacturing components will be lowered to Rs 15 crore, he noted.
Projects covered under the Centre's Electronics Component Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS) will now be permitted to stagger investments across five phases instead of the existing three under RIPS-2024.
The monthly skill development and training allowance for women and persons with disabilities employed in the electronics and semiconductor sector will be raised from Rs 4,000 to Rs 6,000.
Startup Funding and Land Reforms
Sharma said 25 new startups will receive financial assistance this year through the Rajasthan Venture Capital Fund.
The state has also streamlined industrial approvals, reducing the land-use approval period for MSME units in urban areas from 60 days to 30 days and cutting the overall industry setup approval timeline from 120 days to 30 days.
More than 1,600 industrial plots have been allotted over the past year under the Direct Allotment Policy-2025, the chief minister highlighted.
During the programme, Sharma also launched the Rajasthan Industrial Development Policy, an ODOP coffee table book, and the RAMP (Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance) portal.
He also distributed cheques worth over Rs 13 crore in loans, grants, and subsidies to beneficiaries of various state schemes.
