UP Govt To Focus On Infra, MSMEs and Tech To Achieve USD 1 Tn Economy Goal
Lucknow, Jul 18 (KNN) Uttar Pradesh is intensifying efforts to become a USD 1-trillion economy by strengthening infrastructure, governance, MSMEs, and digital and emerging technology ecosystems, senior officials said at the Uttar Pradesh Industrial Conclave organised by ASSOCHAM India in collaboration with Invest UP.
Infrastructure and Governance at the Core
Addressing the inaugural session, Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak emphasised that robust infrastructure and a strong law-and-order framework are central to the state’s industrial growth strategy, ET reported.
He highlighted the rapid expansion of expressways, reliable power supply, and growing healthcare infrastructure, including over 80 medical colleges and new nursing and paramedical institutions.
Pathak noted that improved governance has boosted investor confidence, leading to better conversion of investment proposals into on-ground projects.
He also pointed to the state’s growing footprint in defence and drone manufacturing, adding that Uttar Pradesh has emerged as a revenue-surplus state.
MSMEs and Digital Integration in Focus
Manoj Kumar Singh, CEO, Uttar Pradesh State Transformation Commission, said Uttar Pradesh is one of India’s strongest MSME hubs, employing over three crore people and contributing nearly 60 per cent of industrial output. He emphasised the need to integrate artificial intelligence into MSMEs to enhance productivity and competitiveness.
Singh outlined the state’s governance approach centred on ‘Nirman, Nigrani and Navachaar’ (creation, monitoring and innovation), underscoring the importance of execution and continuous oversight in achieving development targets.
Rural Connectivity and Sustainability Push
Highlighting digital expansion, Singh announced Project Ganga, aimed at delivering high-speed broadband connectivity in rural areas. He said improved digital infrastructure would support manufacturing growth, entrepreneurship, and the broader digital economy.
On sustainability, he emphasised that adopting green manufacturing practices is essential for long-term industrial competitiveness.
