2-day workshop in Tiruchi on ‘Empowering MSMEs through e-commerce’

Tiruchi, May 18 (KNN) Encouraging the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises to promote their businesses online, the Tamil Nadu industry associations are organizing a two-day workshop on “Empowering MSME through e-commerce”.

The programme is being organized by Tamil Nadu Small and Tinny Industries Association (TANSTIA) - FNF Service Centre in association with Tiruchi District Tiny and Small Scale Industries Association (TIDITSSIA) on May 26-27, 2016.

Talking to KNN, Director of FNF Service, Vijay Lakshmi said, “There are many MSMEs who have got good products and services but lack marketing skills. We are training them to make use of online platform and social media for effective marketing.”

During the event experts would also deliberate on e-commerce and techniques to promote products through e-commerce websites.

“We will start from basics like what is an e-commerce website; how can they build their own website; and benefits out of it for MSMEs,” Lakshmi explained.

The experts would also tell the MSMEs that what other social media tools are available to promote business and how it could be used in small business,” said the Director.

The workshop will be held at SRM Hotel in the city on May 26 and 27. (KNN Bureau)
