Addl Director of MSME Haryana fined for failing to deliver MSME scheme on time

Chandigarh, April 1 (KNN) Additional Director of MSME Department, Government of Haryana, Shashi Kant, who failed to deliver  the MSME energy audit scheme in the given time frame, has been charged with a penalty of Rs 20,000.

The civil servant is held accountable by the Haryana Right to Service (RTS) Commission as a failure of ensuring delivery of service.

It was brought to the notice of the RTS commission by Narender Kapoor who owns a MSME unit in Faridabad.

Kapoor submitted a complaint to the commission stating that on 4th September, 2020 he had applied for an energy audit assistance scheme which is being provided by the Directorate of MSME.

However he did not receive a satisfactory reply and the request stayed in pendency for almost 18 months.

The commission issued a suo moto notice to the director, MSME, and called for an inquiry and fix accountability for the delay.

An inquiry committee was set by the director and a report was produced stating that the delay was caused to generic reasons and not holding any particular officer accountable for the delay.

As per orders received from the RTS Commission on 25th March, 2022  a concerned additional director appeared before the commission with a record of the case.

At the hearing the additional director, MSME, was unable to even cite the RTS timeline for the service in question correctly and was charged with a penalty of Rs 20,000. (KNN Bureau)
