Agro industry vital in reviving local economy, says BJP Leader

Amritsar, Jan 17 (KNN) According to the BJP's Lok Sabha by-poll candidate Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina, the special economic zone and the agro-based industry in Amritsar will revive the economy in the border district of Tarn Taran.

He also promised that if voted to be the MP, he would press for the small and large scale industry to be set up through the central initiative for generation of employment opportunities, as according to him he has already spoken to Union Finance Minister.

In his statement he said that the region needs large and small industrial complexes and he assured that he will stress the NDA government to set up the special economic zone at a suitable place to provide incentives to industry.

Chhina, who was on the move to address various election meetings in Amritsar constituencies said that being the border state, Amritsar has its own peculiar challenges and underlined the importance of central grants in changing the fate of the people in the region.

As electoral preparations are in a full swing, he quipped over opposition especially Navjot Sigh Sidhu and Navjot Singh Sidhu and Capt Amarinder Singh.

He said that they were MPs when the governments in Centre and they both failed to raise the voice of the people in the parliament and were busy in their own self-gratifying political moves.

He also stressed over the development of the tourism industry in the city and the state.

He said the pilgrims constitute major portion of the visitors to this holy city and they need to be tapped by providing best of the facilities for their boarding and lodging.

According to him, his priority would be making the city of Amritsar as hub of modern education on the lines of Bangluru, Pune, Ahmedabad and Mohali so that the students need not to go to distant places. (KNN/RAS)
