AIADA to allocate land for industries in Baharagora and Dugni; say MSMEs worst sufferers of land crunch

Ranchi, July 26 (KNN) The Adityapur Industrial Area Development Authority (AIADA) in Jamshedpur has planned to allocate 25 plots for industries.

The industries can be setup in areas ranging from 0.50 acres to 35.48 acres of land.

Allocation would be done with an aim to stretch the industrial area at Baharagora in East Singhbhum and Dugni in adjoining Seraikela-Kharsawan district, located around 25 km from Jamshedpur.

Deepak Kr. Maroo, President of Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce and Industries said, “The state is suffering from the crunch of land despite enough opportunity among industries to setup. Keeping this issue ahead, AIADA has made this outline of land allocation in the area”.

“In its total provision, 14 plots have been made available for Dugni, that is20 km. from the industrial zone. The plots, which will be available in between 0.50 acres to 1.83 acres, with the cost of Rs 16.95 lakh per acre,” he said.

The total area of plots is 158.20 acres and industry units established at Adityapur area who are looking for their expansion have a good opportunity here.

Moreover, the effort is being stressed on road connectivity at Dugni and Baharagora. Two years back, nearby 80 to 84 acres land was proposed for allocation in West Singhbhum area but due to some litigation on land, it was brought down before auction.

Even now it has not been solved which is causing a problem for industries to expand in the area.

In the Adityapur Industrial Area around industrial 1200 units are functioning which includes 11 large-scale, 64 small scale and 166 tiny industries. Some of the known industries include Usha Martin Group, RSB Group, Tata Steel Growth Shop(TGS) situated in Seraikela-Kharsawan.

Maroo said, “Prices of land are soaring in the state and due to the crunch of land auction has to be done for it. In addition to this, industries with high potential acquire the land but Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) suffer the most. In auction, the prices come even 8 to 10 times which makes highly difficult for the MSMEs to get it. The government should give subsidy to help them in setting up their units”.

Other than this, even after allocation of land, sometimes the industrialists come across the problem of encroachment in the land which again expands the time to set up. In the last four years, a total of 62 plots were made available for industries. Out of 62 plots, a total of 39 plots was made available for one single education institute and is confirmed whereas left 23 plots are for industries. In 23 plots, it is not easy to set up more industries which further leads to employment crunch in the area.

Maroo further said, “The expansion of Adityapur Industrial Area is a good opportunity ahead of industries and prices are suitable to the area. With the expansion of the, job opportunities for locals and other small industries will get a boost. In Tonto Panchayat of West Singhbhum area, proposal of 180 acres of land has come from the two industries”.
