AIADMK manifesto promises Amma Collateral Guarantee Fund; 20% reserved lands for SC/ST entrepreneurs

Chennai, May 6 (KNN) Battleground Tamil Nadu is all set to go for elections in less than two weeks’ time. AIADMK supremo J Jayalalitha released the party’s poll manifesto on Thursday promising several sops to farmers, students, women and businesses.

Apart from free gold, mobiles, laptops, free internet, Tamil Nadu CM has promised to give sops to small entrepreneurs and start-ups in the state.

In the election manifesto, Amma – as she is popularly known as – has promised to establish Amma Collateral Guarantee fund with Rs. 100 crore principal.

Apart from this, Amma has also promised that 20% land in the SME industrial parks will be reserved for SC/ST entrepreneurs.

For traditional sectors, AIADMK chief has promised to establish new textile parks and silk parks and provide 200 units free electricity for handloom weavers.

Also, Amma has promised not to allow FDI in retail in the state and establish Special Economic Zones in second-tier cities.

Announcing benefits in Power, which is one of the most crucial sector affecting the voters, Amma has promised 100 units electricity free every two months and has also assured uninterrupted supply of power.

New thermal power plants over the course of next 5 years would be set up, her party manifesto promised adding 3,000 MW electricity from solar power.

AIADMK also promises to compensate the plantation workers bearing losses from dropping tea prices.

Amma has promised financial assistance for the first time entrepreneurs and has assured to conduct Global Investors Meet every two years.

Jayalalitha has promised that if her party wins, all farm loans in the state would be waived off and Rs 40,000 crores of farm loans would be given between 2016 to 2021.

The Universities in the state would be linked through Cloud Computing for the benefit of students, the manifesto said adding that the Universities would also be linked to industry to provide internship opportunities during summer to increase employment opportunities for students.

Amma, in her manifesto, has also promised complete alcohol prohibition in the state. (KNN Bureau)
