New Delhi, Nov 26 (KNN) Andhra Pradesh government has sanctioned financial relief to the tune of Rs 25,000 for micro industries and Rs 50,000 for small industries that did not have insurance cover and suffered damages due to the recent Cyclone Hudhud calamity, according to media reports.

The relief covers as many as 2,000 micro and small units in north coastal districts of Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram and Srikakulam that suffered extensive damages during the cyclone, said a report from the Times of India.

While micro units are defined as those with an investment of up to Rs 25 lakh, small scale units are defined as firms with investments between Rs 25 lakh and Rs 5 crore.

According to the report, the state government announced that it will release all pending incentives, grants and subsidies to all industrial units set up in the three north coastal districts on a priority basis.

Discoms are also ordered not to levy minimum charges for industrial units that did not consume minimum power due to breakdown of power supply in the three affected districts, it said.

Further, the payment of power bill for September 2014 due in October 2014 has been deferred and such units have been permitted to pay it in three equal monthly instalments from November 2014 to January 2015.

The state government has also said that it will provide industries, which are severely affected as per the assessment of the industries department with facility of deferred payment of property tax to local bodies for six months. (KNN Bureau)
