Andhra Pradesh: Bill for 75% jobs for youth of the state passed

Amaravati, July 25 (KNN) The Andhra Pradesh Assembly passed a bill proposing 75 percent reservation in jobs combining all the industries to the locals across the state. Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy assured the industry that his government will extend every possible help to them.

The bill passed with an aim of providing three-fourth of all jobs for locals in all industries. It included units, factories, joint ventures and projects set up under the public-private partnership.

Reddy said, “This would make people accept the industries which will help them to grow. There will be no corruption at any of the level in the state for which government would follow a transparent policy for industrialization”.

“Promises are done by the industrialists in the name of job opportunity but after acquiring lands they fail to do so for the educated youth Why will people stand ahead to them and give land if their children and educated youth do not get jobs for the same," CM added.

The announcement was made by the Reddy to set up a skill development centre in an engineering college of every parliamentary constituency. In order to train with the required skills to the educated youth for the industry in that particular constituency.

Youth were forced to relocate for the job opportunity to different cities like, Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Chennai and even abroad. With this legislation, an environment will be created where people will accept the industries and come forward to give their lands for it.

He further mentioned, existing industries get three years to provide 75 per cent jobs to locals. To train the youth in required area of skill, government will spend the money and work with the industry.

Several members YSR Congress Party, who participated in the debate, welcomed this bill as a historic move.
