AP IT Min promises to bring new industrial policy in state

Amaravati, June 21 (KNN) The Andhra Pradesh Minister for industries, IT and commercial taxes Mekapati Goutham Reddy promised to bring new industrial policy and action plans soon to attract investment into both industrial and IT sectors.

Taking charge as the new Industries and Information Technology Minister in state secretariat, Reddy told media that the companies will be encouraged to set up units in rural areas.

Stating that the state government would roll out the red carpet for investors, he said by encouraging IT sector, the government wants to generate employment on a large scale for the youth.

In addition, he also promised to look into the issues of the companies which have taken land from the government following signing of memorandum of understanding (MoU) at Partnership Summits in Vishakhapatnam.

The Minister promised to attract investments in IT and industrial sectors, through implementing new action plans and industrial policies.

To set up units in rural areas companies will be encouraged and for youth, the government will raise generate employment from the IT sector. Industrialists will get incentives from the state government, he added.

Reddy said though some MoUs were signed at Partnership Summits but many of them were not materialized for which reasons will be found out. Some companies haven’t proceeded according to the promise after taking land from the government and the state government was identifying such companies for the reasons of delay.

Action would be taken against such companies if found any regularities in the process, he added further. (KNN/VS)
