As DSIIDC sends notices to 11k industries in Bawana, MSMEs ask why didn't DSIIDC make a policy for them in 18 yrs

New Delhi, Aug 24 (KNN) Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (DSIIDC) has issued show-cause notices to as many as 11,000 industrial units who are most MSMEs in Bawana industrial area of Delhi for violating lease norms.

In the notices, the DSIIC has asked the owners of the units to explain why their leases should not be cancelled.

In this regard, Chairman, Bawana Chamber of Industries, Prakash Chandra Jain told KNN India that the DSIIDC has issued notices to the industrial units in Bawana for four reasons-change of trade, renting out premises, non-operational units and GPA.

Calling it a move against the interest of business community, Jain said, “18 years have been passed now but DSIIDC has not created any policy related to land because of which MSME units are suffering today.”

They have made policies for Delhi, but why not for Bawana, Jain questioned.

Jain further claimed that DSIIDC policies are paralyzed since long time now and today they are blaming MSME units because they know that they are weaker.

“If a person has rented his space to other because he is too old to run the industry or because he has no funds or for some reason he has changed the trade because of loss in previous trade activity then what’s wrong in that,” Jain pointed.

He said because of DSIIDC "lackadaisical attitude", today ease of doing business has come to bottom and when we need freehold rights they are issuing notices for violating lease norm.

We have knocked doors of Ministers and different authorities but no one is supporting us, Jain said adding to this, he said “we have no alternative as we are weaker party.”

With regard to this matter, owners of factories on Thursday met Delhi industries minister Satyendar Jain and demanded a policy for freehold ownership of the units.

Various industrial associations from Bawana have raised their voice in support of the industrial units in Bawana and also asked for the relief for factory owners.
