Assamese MSMEs urge Chief Minister to form Economic Advisory Council
Guwahati, June 8 (KNN) The North Eastern Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Assam have suggested Sarbanand Sonowal, the new Chief Minister of Assam to form a high level Economic Advisory Council in lines of Prime Minister Economic Advisory Council to address the key economic issues pertaining to the State.
Talking to KNN, the Senior Vice President of Federation of Industry and Commerce of the North East Region (FINER), Amit Kumar Jain said that an Industry delegation met with Chief Minister and discussed about the Industrial development and GDP growth of the state.
The delegation sought his attention to review industrial policy to generate employment and to attract investment in Assam.
“We have given proposal to the Chief Minister's to set up a High powered Economic Advisory Council in lines of Prime Minister's Economic Advisory Council, to timely address the key economic issues pertaining to the State", said Senior Vice President.
However, Jain said that there is no deadline to form the council and suggested CM how the improvement can be done in industrial policies.
He further explained that the CM would hold detailed meetings with industry captains, local and outside investors next month.
When asked about the Government response to Industries, FINER Sr. VP said “The Government’s response is very positive as compared to the previous Government. They are more seriousness and are full of enthusiasm.”
He hoped that state Government would focus more towards the industry as is being done at Center. (KNN Bureau)
