BBIA delegation meets tax officials in J&K, highlights key points related to payment

Srinagar, Oct 21 (KNN) A delegation of Bari Brahmana Industries Association (BBIA) led by Lalit Mahajan met Rifat Kohli, KAS Additional Commissioner (Adm.), State Tax Department, Jammu in the presence of Rajnesh Gupta Deputy Commissioner, Audit and highlighted the various issues related to the Industrial Sector of J&K for early resolution.

While appreciating the efforts of the department for the sanctioning Rs.62 crores against the pending reimbursement claims of the industrial units, the following points were brought into the knowledge of Add. Commissioner, which includes the sanction of Funds for the remaining pending claims of Industrial Units laying with department, time bound clearance of claims files by the concerned CTO’s on first cum first serve basis, Adoption of Self Credit Mechanism by the Department for the early settlement of Claims, to take necessary steps to prevent the entry of un accounted/under value goods being manufactured by Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) units of the State from Lakhanpur Check Post.

Apart from these, points like interest charged on the GST Returns filed on 20th October for the period August/September 2019 for which the date was extended by the Department and Extension of date for the exemption from the preview of E-Way Bill for the Intra-State dispatch of goods due to disturbance of Internet connectivity and other related issues were also highlighted.

Mahajan also brought into the notice of Additional Commissioner, that due to blockage of Funds in the reimbursement of claims of CGST/SGST and 2 % in lieu of CST, the working capital of the units stands exhausted and requested her to kindly take up the matter with the commissioner state tax department for the release of funds before the Darbar Move to clear the liability of the Industrial Units.

Rifat Kohli, KAS Additional Commissioner (Adm.), State Tax Department, Jammu assured the Delegation to resolve the issues on priority basis.

Tarun Singla, Sr. Vice President, Ajay Langer Vice President, Viraaj Malhotra General Secretary, Rajesh Jain Secretary, Vivek Singhal Treasurer of BBIA were also present in the meeting.
