Patna, Dec 12 (KNN) Industries Minister of Bihar Samir Kumar Mahaseth has once again raised the demand for special economic zone (ECZ) in the state right ahead of the state global investors summit.

The Bihar Business Connect 2023 is scheduled to take place on 13-14 December, 2023 with an aim to attract investments and provide all possible help to industrialists to start business in Bihar.

Talking to TOI ahead of the summit with an aim to woo big market players to set up industries in Bihar, he said the two-day meet will give the real picture of the state to the investors.

He said an increase in investments would take Bihar to the list of top ten states in terms of industries. He said the government’s stress would be on food processing, leather, textile, information technology among other sectors.

“As the Centre is celebrating 2023 as the International Year of Millets and 2024 as International Year of Makhana (fox nuts), we will tap the opportunity as 70 per cent of the makhana production is in Bihar. Makhana processing units will be given a push in the state. Also, it has big demand in the market for its nutritional values,” he said.

He said Bihar Biofuel Production Promotion Policy, Bihar Industrial Investment Policy, 2016 and Bihar Industrial Investment Promotion Policy (leather and textile), 2022 were proving to be of great help for the investors.
