Budget has a long vision to give industrial push :Kerala MSMEs

Thiruvananthapuram, July 9 (KNN) The Kerala Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) have welcomed the maiden budget presented by  the Pinarayi Vijayan led Left Government in Kerala  to attract major investments to tide over the financial crisis in addition to bringing in all welfare schemes under a single umbrella.

Presenting the budget before the Assembly on Friday, Finance Minister TM Thomas Isaac said attracting investment to the tune of Rs one lakh crore in 2 years is the major development agenda. 

Talking to KNN, the President of Kerala State Small Industries Association (KSSIA), K.P. Ramachandran Nair said that the Kerala Government has presented a budget with a long vision of  infrastructural development for the industry here.

He said that he Government has declared to start industrial parks on the sides of national highways.  The Government has planned to establish industrial zones for which government will acquire 5100 acres of land.

While giving budget speech, Minister said that second coir restructuring scheme would be brought in and 10 percent subsidy for coir treatment factories would be provided, apart from this Rs100 crore for modernisation of cashew factories would be given.

“Another important announcement has done by the government is that to reduce the frequent inspection of the factories which will help to run the industry without hesitation”, KSSIA President said.

He further stated that Government’s move to modernise the check post will help in the ease of transportation of the goods in state and outside the state.

“We support the government's move to establish industry friendly attitude in the state which is a welcoming sign for the industrial development in the state. Budget seems to be supported for industrial development," he added. (KNN Bureau)
