CAIT seeks clarity on Delhi Markets website announced by CM Kejriwal

New Delhi, 5 Nov (KNN) The senior members of Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) have criticized the announcement made by Delhi’s Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to launch a website for Delhi Markets to showcase and sell their products.

According to them, it targets the traders of Delhi as no conceptual clarity has been presented neither the traders were approached for suggestions on such a huge decision in which traders are the biggest stakeholders.

Hence, before the implementation, government of Delhi must involve the traders in understanding and modeling the website.

Secretary General, Praveen Khandelwal said, “This move doesn’t provide better business facilities to Delhi traders as the Delhi Government did not consult the traders”.

“If a private company is going to develop this website, traders will refrain from sharing their data especially when the Data Protection Bill is still pending in the Parliament,” added Khandelwal.

He also pointed out other several important elements that need to be provided such as logistic services.

“The Delhi government needs to consult with traders who are an integral part of this development for this project to be a success,” said the release.
