CMIA initiates work for Deogiri Electronics Cluster in Aurangabad, lays foundation stone

New Delhi, Oct 18 (KNN) Eyeing at developing the region powered by industries including the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, the Chamber of Marathawada Industries And Agriculture (CMIA), recently laid the foundation stone for its upcoming Electronic Cluster project in Deogiri region of Aurangabad.

The cluster is expected to attract investments from other states and also from abroad and is likely to host a number of electronic manufacturing MSMEs once established.

This project of CMIA comes in the follow-up of the successful implementation of Marathawada Auto Cluster (MAC) under the Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion (DIPP) Scheme.

Earlier, The Chamber Of Marathawada Industries and Agriculture (CMIA) took initiative to start Brownfield Electronics Cluster as per Government of India’s Electronics policy to build ecosystem of ESDM Sector in this region.

This project will be established by CMIA as ‘Deogiri Electronics Cluster Pvt Ltd’ on 2 acres land at MIDC, Aurangabad.

Earlier the chamber informed that the total project cost estimated is Rs.50 crore and in the first phase of Rs.28.58 crore is sanctioned by (MeitY), 75 per cent of the project is being funded by the Government of India, 10 per cent by Government of Maharashtra and 15 per cent equity contribution by Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) of Deogiri Electronics Cluster Pvt Ltd.

The cluster is likely to will comprise of the facilities viz.; Electronics Design & Testing, Training & Innovation, Electronics Manufacturing & Modular Cabinet Design & Prototyping.

CMIA in a statement informed that The implementation of this State of the Art project will boost ecosystem of Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) sector of Marathawada region. This Cluster will build support structure for Start-ups in ESDM for Product design & validation, prototyping, pilot run and environmental testing.

This cluster will provide support Small Scale Industries, Academics and Start-ups of Marathawada region. (KNN/DA)
