Marathwada Association of Small Scale Industries and Agriculture (MASSIA) president Balaji Shinde said despite growing well, the major challenge the industries face is poor infrastructure.
He emphasised that the condition of roads in both the industrial areas of Waluj and Chikalthana has become worse.
MASSIA member Anil Patil said if the government wants overall development in the state, then it is the need to concentrate on growing cities such as Aurangabad.
“The city has more advantages as compared to other cities. It has several sectors such as manufacturing, auto, engineering, breweries, packaging and pharma. Besides, the city has an international presence as it exports goods to over 80 countries. But unfortunately, when you enter the city, it does not give the impression that the industries contribute such huge revenue to the government,” he said.
The association members raised the issue of double taxation levied on the industries by both MIDC and gram panchayat. They also urged the minister that the MIDC should look after solid waste management.
Meanwhile, Geete assured the entrepreneurs that he would look into the matter and will solve their problems. (KNN Bureau)
