DIC holds ZED workshop for MSMEs in Udhampur
New Delhi, Dec 27 (KNN) With an objective to promote awareness among the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and to promote Prime Minister’s objective of achieving zero defect in manufacturing and to enhance competitiveness, a workshop was recently organised at SICOP Complex at Battal Ballian in Udhampur, Jammu & Kashmir.
The workshop was organised by the District Industries Centre in collaboration with Zero Effect Zero Defect (ZED) division of QCI. Manik Gupta, Assistant Director, ZED, QCI, Government of India was invited as Guest of Honour.
Addressing the participants during the event, Gupta highlighted the benefits of ZED certification in improving quality of manufactured goods to achieve global standards.
In order to assist the MSMEs attain upper hand in global competition, ZED Model is to prove instrumental for the units, stated Gupta.
Over 45 micro, small and medium enterprises registered for the certification program during the meet.
The ZED scheme was launched by the government in an attempt to develop an ecosystem for Zero Defect Manufacturing in MSMEs. It further aimed to promote adaptation of Quality tools/systems and Energy Efficient manufacturing. (KNN/ MG)
