“Don’t see industrialists as enemies. We need to encourage them to usher in an era of development. We all know how Gujarat developed,” he said.
The Chief Minister is on a two-day visit to rural areas here and will be meeting farmers, members of self-help groups, NREGS beneficiaries, and other sections at about a dozen venues from Anakapalli to Nakkpalli telling people about government programmes including the loan waiver scheme and also seeking their opinion and views on it.
During the tour, he will visit Anakapalli, Tummapala, Chodavaram, Gajapathinagaram and Chodavaram areas.
On the issue of writing to the RBI governor asking him to reschedule the loans, Naidu said, “If the RBI does not agree to it, we shall use other options for the loan waiver. But we are committed to the waiver of farm loans as well as DWCRA loans,” as quoted in a media report.
He also emphasised the need for urbanisation and announced that the government would develop Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada-Guntur and Tirupati as three mega cities besides developing 13 other smart cities.
Naidu said that Visakhapatnam will be developed on the lines of Hyderabad.
Naidu also pressed on the need for developing ports and highlighted that four deep water ports were available in the state and wanted to develop port-based infrastructure.
Several neighbouring states, including Telangana and Karnakata, would depend on AP for cargo transportation, he said.
