e-Vidyalaya to promote quality education in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, Jul 1 (KNN) Odisha government is planning to implement the second phase of e-Vidyalaya project to provide effective and quality education through information and communication technology (ICT) at the remotest schools of the state. It will fulfil the dream of children to use modern technology in the teaching and learning curve.

It is a flagship programme of Odisha Madhyamika Siksha Mission (OMSM) under Mass Education Department of the state.

The project will provide ICT enabled interactive teaching environment (labs) using projector, interactive board, computer based lab for learning and reinforcement in state government schools and government aided high schools.

The state government is also planning to implement online monitoring facility and a web based knowledge community for teachers and online MIS for performance tracking of the entire project.

Towards this, the Odisha Knowledge Corporation Limited (OKCL) is inviting bids from experience firms to be service provider for setting up e-Vidyalaya Phase II (e-Tendering mode).

e-Vidyalaya aims to reach 4,000 government schools in the first phase and an additional 2,000 government schools in the second phase. An amount of around Rs 746 crore has been demarcated for the project. (KNN/ST)
