Fatehgarh Sahib MP Amar Singh Boparai urges centre to provide relief to MSMEs

Mandi Ahmedgarh, Nov 30 (KNN) Fatehgarh Sahib MP Dr Amar Singh Boparai has urged the Central Government to provide immediate relief to Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), which have been on the verge of shutdown in the region.

Dr Boparai said that agricultural implements industry, cattle feed industry, steel rolling mills, truck and bus body building and plywood industry in Ahmedgarh, Khanna, Sirhind, Gobindgarh and Sahnewal are some of the industries which need to be pull out from shutting down. 

While terming government policies as defective and went on saying that due to this a large number of factories situated in Fatehgarh Sahib district are on the verge of collapse.

He also said most of the local units suffered loss due to dumping of Chinese products in the market, including plywood, apparel and textile, among others.

The MP claimed that certain segments such as steel rolling section were earlier availing concession in CST. He said the government should allow similar exemption in the Goods and Services Tax (GST) as well.

Further the MP also informed that he has already taken up the issue in Parliament and he will meet the Cabinet Minister to demand concession in the GST for MSMEs.

Recently, in the last weeks, five non-BJP ruled States had raised concerns over delay in payment of GST compensation by the Centre.
