Food processing, rubber, automobile machinery showcased at industrial fair

Palakkad, Feb 10 (KNN)  As many as 56 modern engineering and industrial machinery units participated in industrial fair Technovista 2014 held here, representing sectors such as food processing, textile, ayurveda, rubber, printing, automobile and packaging.

Held here from February-6 to 9, the event featured live and video demonstrations of machinery pertaining to those sectors.  There were nearly 20,000 visitors to the fair and many orders were placed, event coordinator, Rehmat Ali told KNN.

Organised by the District Industries Centre in Kerala, TECHNOVISTA 2014 was a technological and machinery show that provided a platform for manufacturers, entrepreneurs, suppliers and institutions to showcase their technical talents and sophisticated innovations, while connecting the industry.

The Department of micro, small and medium enterprises; the National Small Industries Corporation; and the Kerala Financial Corporation also participated in the fair.

The event catered to the needs and demands of the industry and helped professionals associated with it to gain fresh insights into the sector.

Technovista was organised to transform Kerala into a vibrant entrepreneurial society with faster, inclusive and sustainable economic growth in order to achieve global standards in every domain.

Among its objectives were to promote the state as a prime destination for industrial investments with environmental protection.   It was also intended to revamp Kerala into an entrepreneurial state by encouraging private investment in all sectors particularly in Agro Processing, Services and Commerce and new emerging Sectors.  (KNN/ES)
