Kolkata, Jul 16 (KNN)  Federation of Small and Medium Industries (FOSMI) has invited small and medium units in West Bengal to provide inputs regarding problems relating to labour laws which are adversely affecting their operations.

FOSMI will be compiling the information from the units to pass on to the appropriate authority for consideration of necessary amendment/s in the matter, the industry body told KNN.

Explaining about the initiative, “the profusion of labour laws applicable to MSMEs have always posed great problems for units belonging to the MSME Sector. We are happy to say that the State Government now recognizes the problem in general as a result of our persistent follow up in this regard,” it said.

The Government is ready to look into the matter and do the needful to facilitate growth of MSMEs in the State, it added.

FOSMI has asked its members to urgently send in writing any problem relating to labour laws which they feel is adversely affecting their operations by 12.00 noon on July-16.  (KNN/ES)
