Hyderabad, May 14 (KNN) With an objective to provide an exclusive forum to share the ideas & experiences of specialized expertise in the field of solid waste management, the Federation of Telangana & Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FTAPPCI) held a seminar on “Solid Waste Management” in Hyderabad.

The Chief Guest of the seminar Dr. B. Janardhan Reddy, Commissioner, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation called the citizens of the city to take the responsibility of keeping Hyderabad city clean and the impact of the consequences of garbage dumping in open areas.

He said that recently Telangana Government with the help of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) distributed 'two garbage bins' to the residents of twin cities. This policy aims towards segregation of solid and wet waste at household level. It symbolically represents 'Swachh Hyderabad Mission' (emerged out of the parent initiative 'Swachh Bharat Mission').

He called upon the participants to join in with the GHMC in creating awareness among the public on the various issues of waste management and importance of sanitation.
