Gati infra to sell power to SMEs in Sikkim

Gangtok, Aug 19 (KNN) Gati Infrastructure, a power generating group has plans to sell power generated through a hydroelectric project, to the small and medium enterprises, in the state of Sikkim.

“Gati infrastructure pvt ltd has commissioned a 110 MW Chuzachen hydroelectric project in the month of May 2013, in the state of Sikkim and is desirous to sell power to distribution companies, large and SME,” the notification said.

Distribution companies, who have the requirement of more than 2 MW load on RTC (Real Time Clock) on long, short and medium term basis, will be given the power, the notification added.

Gati Infrastructure Group is a power generation group which develops power projects with a focus on renewable and green energy which will contribute towards economic growth and development of country.  The group presently has a portfolio of hydro power projects, solar power projects and coal projects.

Gati Infrastructure Group has entered into an agreement with the state government of Sikkim and Sikkim Power Development Corporation Limited to implement 3 hydro power projects in Sikkim.  

It has 3 Hydro Power Projects aggregating to 235 MW under development. The projects under development are 110MW Chuzachen Project on Rangpo and Rongli Rivers in East Sikkim which will get operational by March 2013, 54 MW Bhasmey Project on Rangpo River downstream of Chuzachen Project in East Sikkim and 71 MW Sada Mangder Project on Rangit and Relli Rivers in West Sikkim.

The group also has a coal mining project with local partnership in Indonesia and 1 MW Solar Power Project which was commissioned in March 7, 2012 near Ananthapur in Andhra Pradesh.

The Group is in the process of augmenting its portfolio of hydel projects, coal assets and other power initiatives. (KNN/SD)
