Give incentives to MSMEs in border district of Punjab just like Haryana Govt has given: PPBM

New Delhi, July 9 (KNN) On behalf of industrialists from the border district of the state, Punjab Pradesh Beopar Mandal (PPBM) has asked Punjab government to give similar incentives to the MSMEs as has been announced by the Haryana Government for industries in its backward districts.

The demand comes in the wake of rebate of Rs 2 per electricity unit granted to industries in the backward districts of Haryana by the state government.

On similar lines, the industrialists in the border city are also demanding similar kind of incentives in the state for MSMEs.

With regard to this demand, Punjab Pradesh Beopar Mandal (PPBM) President PL Seth said that the beneficiaries of the incentives extended by Haryana state government recorded growth by 3 fold.

Thus similar benefits should be extended to the industrialists in the bordrs districts of the state, including Ferozepur, Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Tarn Taran and Amritsar, he added.

Also, he underlined that this assistance could be restricted to the MSME (Micro Small Medium Enterprises) industries.

To incentivize industrial units in the border districts, PPBM general secretary Sameer Jain said that the Punjab government must incorporate separate incentives for the MSME industrial units in the said region.

He said that this move would create employment opportunities in the state which are presently very less and incentivize MSMEs which in turn flourish the MSMEs and the state both.
