Government calls only those who are lobbying: North- Eastern MSMEs

Guwahati, Feb 12 (KNN) The Central government has organized Destination North- East in New-Delhi to showcase the inherent economic, social and cultural strength of the North Eastern Region (NER) at the national level. However the industrials in the North- Eastern States said that they were ignored and not invited for the festival.

“Government calls only those people who are lobbying for them,” they said.

Talking to KNN, President of All Assam Small Scale Industries, Arup Kumar Dutta said that does not send good message to the industrials.

“We have been ignored by the Government during such big programmes,” he said.

When asked about the condition of Industries in North Eastern states, he said that Central Government is only working for the Medium and Large scale industries but not for the small industries.

State Government has changed its procurement policy, but it needs improvement, he added.

He demanded that there should be some incentives for the north-eastern industries in the up-coming union budget. (KNN Bureau)
