Gujarat CM inaugurates Industrial park for Women Entrepreneurs, announces hosting Womens Employment Fair

New Delhi, May 8 (KNN) The first Industrial park for women in the state was inaugurated on Sunday by Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani.

The industrial park spreads over 18.32 hectare and is situated near the Sanand Industrial town.

Talking to press, the CM said that the park will help facilitate women empowerment as now women are not merely limited in the vicinity of the household, but are emerging as successful entrepreneurs and managers who can take on business and manufacturing efficiently. 

The CM also handed over 102 plots to the women for setting up manufacturing units with an aim to generate jobs for over 5000 women workers. He further said that the units will attract women workforce from the nearby villages.

Rupani also announced that the state government is planning to host a series of events that would help facilitate jobs for women. The Mahila Rojgar Mela (Women’s employment fair) will be organized to encourage empowerment and generate opportunities.

He also informed that the State Government has outlined a gender budget worth Rs 56000 crores and have formulated over 650 welfare schemes.

Gujarat has been a favourable destination for  women entrepreneurs to start their own units be it small scale cottage industry and soft skills to large engineering and manufacturing units, the Minister added. (KNN/ DA)
