H Pradesh apples society plans expansion in Chennai & Mumbai; apple line in Kinnaur

Shimla, Apr 7 (KNN) Himachal Pradesh Horticulture Produce, Marketing and Processing Corporation Ltd (HPMC) has made plans to expand into Mumbai and Chennai by renting out its cold storage facilities through joint venture initiatives. It also wants to commission an Apple Line at Kinnaur, 235 kms from here.
HPMC has cold stores at Mumbai and Chennai with capacity of 2250 MT and 2000 MT respectively. The cold stores are of four chambers with six floors each and two additional rooms have been created at cold store Mumbai. The cold store at Mumbai has the facility of a goods lift to connect all floors and also space of open storage measuring 7,000 square metres.
The Corporation intends to rent out these facilities to interested parties having sound professional skills on operating and managing such ventures, initially for a period of five years.
HPMC also wants to set up an Apple Line at Apple Packhouse at Rekong Peo. In this context it has called for bids for agencies to supply, install and commission the Apple Line.
The agency should be a leading international manufacturer of Fruit Grading Equipment with proven experience of manufacture and supply of Apple Washing-Grading-Sorting lines for a minimum of 5 years and having supplied at least 5 similar Apple Lines in India or abroad.
HPMC was established with the objective of marketing of fresh fruits and processing of all types of surplus fruits. It has developed the most modern system of marketing in the country.
The unique characteristics of this organization are that it provides all the services to the fruit growers, which are required for marketing of fruits. The Corporation has set up two modern Fruit Processing Plants and has acquired their on lease basis from the HIMPROCESS and has a vast range of processed products. (KNN/ES)
