HP govt will hold Global Investors Meet 2019: CM

Shimla, July 22 (KNN) With a target of Rs 85,000 crores in investment across different sectors, the State Government will hold a Global Investors Meet at Dharamshala this year, said Jai Ram Thakur, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister.

He was speaking as a chief guest on the occasion of the regional award ceremony of the Engineering Exports Promotion Council of India (EEPC) India.

Due to the strong leadership of the Centre, the country is uplifting and rising as one of the strongest economy of the world which has changed the opinion of the world. Exporters of the country are playing a vital role in this and to raise the economy to five trillion their contribution is crucial, he added.

During the last two years engineering export of India achieved new heights, it grew to 81.02 billion dollars in the year 2018-19 against 7.02 billion dollars in 2017-18, said Thakur.

“MoUs have been already signed by the state government for more than Rs 25000 crores. A high-level delegation of the state met investors by roadshows which was held at the national and international level," he said further.

“As the state has a favorable environment, the export is growing and the State Government is providing various incentives to the entrepreneurs. To make the state most favorable destination in the country for investors, efforts are being made. The government has been putting its effort to increase the ease of business here and it had been reflected in the ranking made by the Government of India," Thakur added further.

To set up the regional center of Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) in Shimla, State Government has provided 57 bighas of land in Shimla which would help to identify export potential, he said.

He also invited the suggestions marked from the industrialists present on the occasion for the success of the proposed investors meet. Moreover, to develop the state he called to motivate other entrepreneurs for investment in Himachal Pradesh.
