IIA partners with GST Gurukul to make MSMEs GST ready

Lucknow, Sep 24 (KNN) In order to prepare MSMEs to adopt GST model smoothly, Indian Industries Association (IIA) and GST Gurukul have joined hands together to facilitate the entrepreneurs for transition from VAT regime to GST regime.

Keeping in view the needs of the businessmen to know about the GST model, IIA has partnered  with GST Gurukul, an organization launched by 4 retired Senior Officers of Commercial Tax Department of UP, the industry body said in a release.

Both the organizations will facilitate the businessmen of Uttar Pradesh for smooth transition from VAT to GST.

“In doing so IIA and GST Gurukul will educate the stakeholders through various communication channels including IIA news magazine, Seminars and Workshops on GST all over the State through IIA Chapters. The two sides would also answer the queries on GST, help in solving the problems of businessmen, interact with the State and Central Government for giving feedback on GST Laws & Rules for suitable amendments and to help in smooth implementation of GST,” the release added.

Speaking on the occasion, Manish Goel, President IIA said that for atleast for one year from now one of the major activities in IIA will be facilitation of MSMEs for GST.

IIA has already launched a "GST Helpline & Discussion forum" on its website, which can be accessed by any one for free, said Goel.

It was decided by both the organizations that future programmes on GST would focus on specific topics to be more result oriented. (KNN Bureau)
