Industrial complex Bari Brahmana turns into Garbage dump: BBIA

Srinagar, Aug 2 (KNN) The Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) body, Bari Brahmana Industries Association (BBIA), has held an urgent meeting expressing serious concerns over the condition of the drainage system in the the Bari Brahmana Industrial Complex.

Raising the concerns, President of BBIA, Lalit Mahajan said, “In the current season, even 30 minutes of rains turns the whole industrial complex into a garbage dump. Due to the blockage of drains and culverts, rain water has entered the premises of a number of units, causing damage to the infrastructure and huge loss to the industry.

The estate department of the Jammu and Kashmir State Industrial Development Corporation (SIDCO) failed to deploy requisite work force through the contractors for cleaning of the lanes/drains in the complex, repair of damaged/blocked culverts in spite of facts that lakhs of rupees are annually spent by the corporation on cleaning the industrial complex, rued Mahajan.

He stated “It is the need of the hour to take immediate steps for restoration of damaged roads, drains, culverts and cleaning of main drains on a war-footing for which we request the managing director of the J&K SIDCO to issue necessary directions.”
