Industrial Expo to provide biz development opportunities for MSMEs

Haridwar, Sept 20 (KNN)  To provide business development opportunities to the micro, small and medium enterprises by linking them with large companies, an industrial expo will be held here in November.

The third edition of CII Industrial Expo is scheduled to be held here from November-6 to 9.

The event will help large companies to identify local vendors and thereby contribute to their development.

Over the last decade Uttarakhand has emerged as one of the fastest growing manufacturing hubs in the Northern Region. From a virtually zero industry base at inception, the State has attracted industrial investments of more than Rs 30,000 crore, official data indicates.

Some of the leading sectors in manufacturing in the state today are auto and auto components, pharmaceuticals, engineering, electrical, electronics, food processing and FMCG.

Among the objectives of the Expo are - linking MSMEs with large companies; showcasing industrial products and services; exploring new vendors, suppliers and buyers; industry – academia interface.

The focus sectors are automobiles, auto components, electronics and electrical, engineering goods, pharmaceuticals, food processing and beverages, power and infrastructure, manufacturing facilities.

This year’s event will feature a NSIC pavilion with subsidy upto 95 per cent for participation of 25 micro and small enterprises.  It will also showcase innovations in science and technology available for industry and further commercialization.  (KNN/ES)
