Industry must contribute towards skill development mission of government: HP Minister

New Delhi, Aug 6 (KNN) Industry should come forward and contribute towards the skill development mission and initiatives of the state and central government.

This was said by Himachal Pradesh Minister for Industries, Labor and Employment Bikram Singh while addressing the third edition of MSME conclave organized by CII Himachal Pradesh, State Council on the theme ‘Competitiveness through credit facilitation and capability enhancement’ at Baddi, on Saturday.

He assured that he would facilitate and provide an enabling environment, especially for the growth and progress of MSMEs.

Speaking on the occasion, Rajesh Sharma, Director, Industries shared various path-breaking initiatives of the state government to support the industry.

He said the state government has entered into an agreement with the Quality Council of India to promote “zero effect zero defect” initiative by holding workshops and trainings.

IMJS Sidhu, Chairman, CII, Himachal Pradesh State Council, informed that more than 70 per cent of the industry comprised the MSME sector which played a very critical role in the growth story of the state, including providing employment to the local youth and generating revenue.

He further said that the business environment supplemented by good policies and infrastructure is the key to sustain the existing industry.
