International trade show to develop Saurashtra-Kutch area

Ahmedabad, Sept 1 (KNN) With aim to establish Saurashtra-Kutch as a hub for MSMEs in the global map and to provide a platform to work for the socio economic development of the region, an international trade show will be held in November.
Organised by Saurashtra Vepar Udyog Mahamandal (SVUM), SVUM-2014 International Trade Show will be held in Rajkot from November-5 to 9 to showcase strengths of Saurashtra-Kutch.
“SVUM – 2014 will serve as first biggest initiative in the Saurashtra Kutch area where all stakeholders including government, industry, financial institutes, consumesr, foreign delegations and academia will come under one roof to explore business opportunities with an aim to establish Saurashtra-Kutch (Gujarat) as hub for MSMEs in the global map and to provide a platform to work for socio economic development of Saurashtra-Kutch (Gujarat),” an official release said.
Over 50,000 domestic industrial visitors are expected to patronize the event which will also feature a distribution channel meet, vendor development information centre, human resource procurement centre and an awards function. As many as 250 companies will participate in the event.
Sectors that will be represented at the trade show are – engineering and machine tools, textiles, plastic, kitchenware, housewares, agriculture and renewable energy, infrastructure and building construction, services, IT and electronics, education, health care, travel and tourism.
An NGO registered with the State Government, SVUM aims to improve socio-economic growth in the area through the development of trade and industry. On a regular basis, it holds workshops, technical seminars, and exhibitions to provide a platform to its members to enhance knowledge and skills and business development. (KNN/ES)
