Jammu govt taking cue from Hyderabad to develop clusters, CFCs for MSMEs

Hyderabad, Apr 7 (KNN) The Jammu Government is keen to develop clusters of different industry sectors in the state and set up Common Facility Centre to boost the MSME sector.

With this view, a delegation of Bari Brahmana Industries Association (BBIA) along with Amit Sharma, Managing Director, J&K SIDCO with the support of Foundation for MSME Cluster, New Delhi visited the Common Facility Center and Cluster of Packaging Industries in Hyderabad.

The delegation was led by BBIA Chairman Lalit Mahajan.

“The objective of the visit was in line with the view of the Industries & Commerce Minister Chander Parkash and Commissioner Secretary Industries & Commerce Shailendra Kumar for the setting up of Common Facility Centre & Cluster of Industries in our State to provide opportunities to unemployed local youth,” BBIA said.

The centres would help the budding entrepreneurs avail the opportunities for the setting up their units after getting necessary trainings available in the proposed Common Facility Center which would provide skill development trainings in different trades, BBIA added.

The Delegation visited the Common Facility Center & Industrial Estate being run by Association of Lady Entrepreneurs of India, formerly known as (ALEAP), under the president ship of Rama Devi Kanneganti who is also a member of Prime Minister’s Task Force on MSME, GOI.

Interactions were held between the two sides over various facilities being provided to the prospective woman entrepreneurs to set up their own units.

“The Common Facility Center also provides skill training in various fields like Garment Manufacturing, IT Sector, Handmade Jute Bags, Food Processing etc. for which a substantial grant is being given by the Ministry of MSME and other related departments of the Government of India,” BBIA highlighted.

The Delegation also met M.V. Bharat, President, Andhra Pradesh Corrugated Box Manufacturer’s Association to discuss about the Cluster of around 80 Corrugated Box Manufacturing Units set up by their Member Units.

The Association is providing testing facility to their members under one roof for their raw materials and finished products.

“During the course of discussions with the president of the Corrugated Boxes Manufacturer Association, it was brought to our notice that the Association is in the process of setting up of a Common Facility Center to provide skill development courses to the youth of the State in the packaging sector,” BBIA said.  (KNN Bureau)
