Jammu, June 19 (KNN) The Jammu industrialists have expressed “displeasure” due to the land cancelation directives issued to them by SIDCO due to which they are unable to implement their ongoing projects.

An urgent meeting of the Federation of Industries, Jammu (FOIJ) was held on Thursday to discuss the issue.

“It has been observed with great displeasure that Order No. DI&CJ/PS/2015/953-64 dated 18/March/2015, for the extension of time of six months for taking effective steps for the implementation of projects by the unit holders on the land allotted by SIDCO, is not being adhered by the J&K SIDCO authorities and not allowing any type of construction to be carried out on allotted plots thereby defeating the very purpose of Order and breach of instructions as already conveyed by the Hon’ble Minister for Industries & Commerce and Financial Commissioner of Industries & Commerce Deptt,” Chairman, FOIJ, Rajesh Jain said in a statement.

The federation has sought for an explanation from SIDCO for the order issues.

“The Managing Director of SIDCO owes an explanation for bringing the industrial development at grinding halt by not allowing the entrepreneurs to implement the Projects and taking effective steps,” the statement said.

The meeting was held under the Chairmanship of Jain and was attended by  office bearers of different Associations.

“We are aware that some of unit holders had to sell/transfer the land due to their personal financial problems for which the Government had itself made a transfer policy,” FOIJ said.

Further there is considerable delay in the sanction of Power in favour of unit holders, it said.

“We have come to know that SIDCO wants to cancel the vacant plots along with the Projects under implementation where the construction works is going on for the reason best known to the concerned officials which is unjustified to the local sons of the soil entrepreneurs,” the statement added.

Most of them are in the phase of their planning/execution of their projects for which Government should give sufficient time for them to take effective steps for the implementation of their projects, the industrialists demanded.

FOIJ has requested the state Industries & Commerce Minister Chander Prakash to intervene into the matter and issue immediate orders for the grant of one year time to unit holders for taking effective steps for the implementation of their projects with a directions to Director Industries & Commerce, Jammu/Kashmir to renew the Provisional Registration EM Part-I immediately to fulfil the duty of promotion and development of Industries for generating employment opportunities.
