Jammu, Nov 12 (KNN)  Members of industry body Bari Brahmana Industries Association (BBIA) are unhappy with the Power Development Department for the delay in sanctioning power connections to industrial units here.  They have appealed to the Chief Minister to intervene in the matter.

At a meeting held here recently, under the Presidentship of Annil Suri, they discussed the casual attitude of Power Development Department towards the industrial sector in respect of release of new connections / additional power loads in favour of the units located in SIDCO Industrial Complex, Bari Brahmana, according to an official release.

During the meeting, members showed strong resentment towards the delay tactics adopted by the office of the Power Development commissioner for not holding the meeting since last six months for the sanction of new connections/additional load of the industrial units, it said.

The unit holders have experienced immense suffering as they have already invested crores of rupees  on the plant and machinery which is sitting idle due to non-release of power connections in spite of power load  available at 50X2 MVA Station at Bari Brahmana.

“The Development Commissioner power is not bothered about the Government Orders for time bound clearance of Power Sanction cases which clearly shows the negative attitude of the Department towards the Industrial Sector which is providing employment to lakhs of youth of the State,” the BBIA release added.

Under the circumstances, BBIA has appealed to the Chief Minister Jenab Omar Abdullah to intervene in the matter and issue necessary orders to clear the pending cases on urgent basis which will provide great relief to the industrial sector.  (KNN/ES)
