India’s first hydrogen fuel-related industry to come up in Jharkhand

Ranchi, July 31 (KNN) Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren approved the establishment of India's first hydrogen fuel-related industry in Jamshedpur, an official statement said on Saturday.

As per reports, the projects will be spearheaded by M/s TCPL Green Energy Solutions Private Limited (TGESPL), a joint venture between M/s Tata Motors Limited and M/s Cummins Inc., USA. It will be set up for an investment of over Rs 350 crore.

The proposed unit will boast a capacity of over 4000 Hydrogen Internal Combustion Engines, along with Fuel Agnostic Engines, and over 10,000 Battery systems.

The venture is expected to generate employment opportunities for over 310 individuals, both directly and indirectly.

CM Soren expressed his enthusiasm for the project and the potential it holds for the state's future growth and green initiatives. He granted his consent for the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with M/s TGESPL, marking a significant step towards the realization of this innovative venture.

The MoU will be finalized pending approval from the Single Window Clearance Committee and High-Power Committee for the establishment of the unit dedicated to the manufacture and production of Advanced Chemistry Batteries, H2 Fuel Cells, and H2 Fuel Delivery Systems.

This pioneering initiative not only reinforces Jharkhand's commitment to embracing clean and sustainable technologies but also puts India on the global map as a pioneer in hydrogen fuel-related industries.  (KNN Bureau)
