NIT-Jamshedpur seeks funding for incubation centre from MSMEs in Kolhan
Jamshedpur, July 28 (KNN) The National Institute of Technology (NIT-Jamshedpur) has sought for funding support from entrepreneurs of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) of Kolhan division to establish an incubation centre at the institute, reported TOI.
The first company to have committed to provide funds is RSB group whose Chairman is R K Behera, informed, NIT Director, Goutam Sutradhar.
The state-of-the-art will host high-end technology driven machines that are generally not obtained by small entrepreneurs.
The SME representatives have suggested the institute to install electron microscope scanner of above 1000x capacity, micro hardness tester, surface defect tester, and reverse prototype 3D scanner machines, among others, in the first phase.
The director said that the incubation centre will have the desired machines in a phased manner, with aforementioned high quality tech machines to be procured in the first phase.
Head of department, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, NIT, Ranjit Prasad, said as per the New Education Policy (NE), one semester in the undergraduate course is dedicated to industrial exposure and the student have to do an industrial internship. (KNN Bureau)
