JKIVB disburses Rs 56 crore under PMEGP; establishes 36289 micro industrial units across state

Jammu, May 14 (KNN) Jammu and Kashmir Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB) disbursed subsidy amounting to Rs 56 crore under Prime Ministers Employment Generation Program (PMEGP) and Rs 17.24 crore under newly launched State level Jammu and Kashmir Rural Employment Generation Program (JKREGP).

This was informed during performance review meeting chaired by Vice Chairperson, J&K KVIB Hina Shafi Bhat here.

It was also informed that the Board has established over 3628 micro industrial units across the state under PMEGP and JKREGP.

On the occasion, she laid thrust on the promotion of bee-keeping activities in the state.

Appreciating the work of Board, the Bhat underscored the need for reaching to the remote and far-flung areas of the State. She impressed upon the officers to organize awareness camps to extend financial support to youth for their sustainable living.

She also urged all the district officers to further improve their performance, so that the welfare schemes may reach to larger sections of the society.
