Jodhpur, May 10 (KNN) As a part of ongoing outsource programme for proper management of waste, the Municipal Corporation, Jodhpur is planning to outsource processing of biogas being generated from sewage treatment plant (STP) at Salawas.

The plant is based on activated sludge process, with having screening and grit removal of waste materials like primary clarifier, aeration tank, secondary clarifier, sludge thickeners, sludge digester and flaring system.

To utilize the gases and earn revenue out of it, the corporation wants to process it and to sell in safe manner and regain the revenue out of it.

For this, the corporation wants to outsource an agency. It is seeking partnership from domestic and global firms approved by Renewable Energy Department for purchase a treating and processing unit from 50 MLD sewage plant Unit-I at Salawas.

The selected firm will utilise the gases in power generation or gas bottling plant, however the investment of testing, processing etc. should be arranged by the purchaser on his own, said the corporation in a notice.

Under JNNURM programme, a 62.50 MLD STP and a power generation unit operating from sludge digestion was constructed by Jaipur Nagar Nigam in 2009-10 at Delawas of Jaipur.

The power generation unit is in operation and about 7000 units power per/ day in being generated from gases produced during digestion of sludge at existing 62.50 MLD STP. (KNN/ST)
